Kids Corner with Caitlin Twas the night before Christmas when all through our place, not a creature was stirring, except Paws, Maxwell the Cat and Lady Grace. The stockings were hung on the Chimney with care in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there. This kid was nestled all snug in her bed, while visions of The Gap and Daytons danced in her head. Mom in her flannels and Joe in his cap had just settled their heads for a long winter's nap. When out in the family room there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my bed to see what's the matter. Away to Mom I flew like a flash, "Hurry, hurry, or Paws will make Santa dash" To the family room we ran as quick as could be, where Santa, Paws, Gracie and Max huddled under the tree. He was dressed all in red from his head to his foot, and since our fireplace is gas his clothes weren't covered with soot. The animals stood quietly as he emptied his sack, all wondering if Santa would share in his snack. There were cookies and milk out for St. Nick, he nodded his head and they disappeared quick. I looked away then for a second it seemed, I turned back around, he was no where to be seen. It was the puppies first time with Santa you see, I think they were even more excited then me. We rushed to the window to see his sleigh, but with eight tiny reindeer he was up, up and away. I heard him exclaim as he flew out of sight, "Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!" I looked back around, my heart all aglow, Christmas had come and I had pets, Mom and Joe all in a row.
I hope you also had a Joyous Holiday! Caitlin
